Reconnect with fellow ABC members and other Amsterdam based brain and cognition researchers virtually at this year's online ABC Networking Event

Event details of ABC Networking Event 2021: Reconnecting Researchers
Date 25 June 2021
Time 14:30 -17:00

After more than a year of little opportunity to connect with your co-workers and fellow ABC members, it is more important than ever to reconnect with each other. This is what we set out to do during this year’s ABC Networking Event. We stay true to our goal and once again look forward to bringing together the ABC researchers, as well as our fellow Amsterdam-based brain and cognition researchers from the NIN and Amsterdam Neuroscience communities, to foster old and new relationships and possibilities for (re)connections and collaboration.

You will have the chance to hear all about exciting research taking place in departments other than your own (in and outside of the ABC community), to meet and greet fellow ABC members and other brain and cognition colleagues, to exchange views and opinions on scientific and current topics and to learn how other researchers are dealing with the current challenges. And most importantly, you will have the chance to discuss how we move forward in 2021 with new connections and inspiration for collaboration.

The ABC Networking Event allows you to (re)connect with other researchers in your field and provides you with the opportunity to negotiate new interdisciplinary collaborations. All researchers (PhDs, post-docs, assistant/associate/full professors) are invited to attend and actively participate.

The Networking Event will consist of:

  • ABC Pitch talks: Flash talks that are all about getting to know each other, to foster fresh collaborations, and, possibly, to team-up for grant proposals. In parallel sessions researchers get the change to present their work and/or listen to and discuss all the great brain and cognition research Amsterdam has to offer.
You can sign up for a short pitch talk via the registration form.
  • Networking session: This year we will host our networking session in the virtual space Gather. It is fun and easy, and does not require any installation. You can choose to chat and reconnect with the people you already know or meet new people. Entirely up to you! You can even play games or dance to some music together!
Extra bonus this year: If you register, we will send a special treat to your home to enjoy during the networking session.

We are looking forward to meeting you all online!

The Organizing Committee:

Conrado Bosman (FNWI), Monique Flecken (FGW), Jan Hausfeld (FEB), Monja Hoven (AMC), Stijn Nuiten (FMG), Nora Runia (AMC) and Tim van Timmeren (FMG)

Registration closed 10 June 2021

Registered participants will receive further information and the Zoom and Gather link at a later point.
